BLACK OR SILVER L-TRACK?

Both systems use 84-inch aluminum L-track designed to work with compatible Tec Vanlife back framing. The primary differences are the profile and finish.

Silver BEEFY Flanged/Recessed L-Track

The silver BEEFY flanged/recessed L-track features a wider flange that creates a substantial integrated appearance in finished camper van interiors.

Choose silver if you want:

• A natural silver anodized finish
• A wider BEEFY flange
• A substantial architectural appearance
• Contrast against dark wall or ceiling panels
• L-track integrated into the finished interior

Black Flanged/Recessed L-Track

The anodized matte-black flanged/recessed L-track provides a clean, low-profile appearance that blends particularly well with dark wall panels, ceilings and interior trim.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN EACH COMPLETE PACKAGE?

Every vehicle-specific L-track package contains the four major components required for a typical reinforced installation.

84-Inch Flanged L-Track

The visible aluminum track creates adjustable attachment points for cargo straps, storage accessories, beds, cabinetry and compatible L-track fittings and accessories.

84-Inch Steel Back Framing

Each L-track section is paired with one 84-inch powder-coated steel back-framing section.

The back framing installs behind the finished wall or ceiling panel and provides reinforced mounting points for the L-track.

Tapered Flat-Head Mounting Screws

Each reinforced L-track section receives one 12-pack of tapered flat-head mounting screws.

The tapered heads provide a clean, flush fit within compatible Tec Vanlife L-track.

Aluminum End Caps

Each package includes three 4-packs of aluminum L-track end caps.

This provides 12 end caps—enough to finish both exposed ends of six continuous L-track runs.

Note: Rivets for attaching the back framing to the vehicle structure are not included.

RECOMMENDED SIX-RUN CAMPER VAN L-TRACK LAYOUT

The package quantities are based on a typical Tec Vanlife interior layout incorporating:

• Two longitudinal L-track paths along the ceiling
• Upper and lower L-track runs along the driver’s side
• Upper and lower L-track runs along the passenger side
• No L-track across the sliding door

This creates six primary mounting paths throughout the van.

The 84-inch sections can be cut where necessary to accommodate windows, cabinetry, bed systems, electrical components and other interior features.

Note: If you wish to install vertical L-track, you may need to order additional track, back framing, mounting screws and end caps.

WHY USE L-TRACK BACK FRAMING?

The finished wall panel and the mounting structure have two different jobs.

The panel provides the interior finish.

The back framing provides reinforced mounting points.

Decorative plywood, upholstered panels and thin vehicle sheet metal should not automatically be treated as structural mounting surfaces.

Tec Vanlife 84-inch L-track back framing is installed behind the finished interior panel. The L-track is then secured through the panel and into the matched back framing.

The completed assembly can be considered as:

Flanged L-Track → Finished Interior Panel → Steel Back Framing → Vehicle Structure

Planning the back framing before insulation and finished panels are installed makes it easier to create a strong, clean and adaptable interior mounting system.

Tec Vanlife does not recommend installing L-track across the sliding door.

The completed system’s safe working capacity depends on the vehicle structure, back framing, fasteners, installation method, attachment spacing and direction of loading.

All components and mounting points must be suitable for their intended application. Professional installation is recommended for load-bearing or safety-critical applications.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is included in a complete camper van L-track package?

Each package includes the recommended quantity of 84-inch flanged L-track, matching 84-inch steel back framing, 12-packs of tapered mounting screws and three 4-packs of aluminum end caps.

Are rivets included?

No. Rivets for attaching the back framing to the vehicle structure are not included.

Why are 12 end caps included with every package?

The standard layout contains six completed L-track runs. Each run has two exposed ends, requiring 12 end caps in total.

Can I choose between black and silver L-track?

Yes. Every vehicle configuration is available with either silver BEEFY flanged/recessed L-track or anodized matte-black flanged/recessed L-track.

Can I install vertical L-track with these packages?

The included quantities are based on longitudinal ceiling paths and horizontal upper and lower wall runs. Vertical installations may require additional L-track, back framing, screws and end caps.

Can I use the package with a different interior layout?

Yes, but the package quantities are calculated for the standard six-run layout. Cabinetry, windows, bed systems and other components may change your final requirements.

Can the 84-inch sections be cut?

The aluminum L-track can be cut where required, but modifications may affect mounting-hole locations, end-cap requirements and corrosion protection.

Plan the layout carefully before cutting either the L-track or back framing.

Can I use 100-inch L-track with the 84-inch back framing?

Tec Vanlife does not recommend using its 100-inch L-track with the 84-inch back-framing system because the mounting-hole patterns do not align correctly.

Should the back framing be installed before the walls?

Yes. For a new conversion, determine the L-track positions and install the back framing before completing insulation and finished wall or ceiling panels.
